An immersive, 10-week program hosted by HackCville
Sponsored by Social Entrepreneurship at UVAApply
Get a lens into the world of social entrepreneurship
In Ignite you'll get insight to the world of social entrepreneurship. Through a series of skills based workshops, hands-on projects, and networking opportunities with various professionals in the field, Ignite offers a unique opportunity to students interested in social entrepreneurship to learn and launch real projects.
Develop a real project that generates impact within Cville
The best way to learn about entrepreneurship is to do it. You'll form teams and work on real projects throughout the course of Ignite, putting the skills and industry expertise you learn into practice. (You don't need to have an idea to apply to Ignite.)
Join our community
Through collaborative projects, group dinners, hikes, pregames, and more you’ll become part of HackCville’s tight-knit community. We serve all UVA students (grad/undergrad) and Charlottesville community members 18+.

Applying to Ignite
Applications due by Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:59pm
Ignite meets twice a week, once as an entire class on Mo 6-7:30pm and Wed 4-5:30pm, and a second time in a small group. (Those meeting times are flexible as they're set by the small group you'll join.) All programs meet September 2 through late November.
All sections of all programs (including Ignite) start with a 11am-5:30pm kickoff on Sunday, September 2.
You must be able to attend each session. More than a few missed meeting times will result in being dropped from HackCville.
$50 membership dues are due at the beginning of the program. These dues remain the same for every following semester you're involved in HackCville.
These fees can be reduced or waived for those with financial need, no questions asked.
Semester programs are high commitment, so if you're just looking to get a taste of HackCville or Social Entrepreneurship, check out our public events to get your feet wet this semester.
In our application process we look for extremely committed, reliable students who are hungry for an intensive challenge. We want people who intend on becoming active, contributing members of the HackCville community.
Any UVA student (grad or undergrad) or Charlottesville resident +18 may apply.
