Lady T: Teaching and Inspiring

How this UVA Drama Professor’s influence goes beyond the classroom.

Theresa M. Davis, known as “Lady T,” has been a UVA Drama Professor for 10 years. Over the past three years she has staged seven existing and devised works, including “Throw Your Head Back and Sing: A Tribute to Maya Angelou,” which was presented at James Madison University this past September.

Lady T has shaped students’ experiences here at UVA since her first time on Grounds as a Guest Artist in 2005.  The long list of lives that Lady T has impacted as a professor and mentor includes Miller Arts Scholar and “Black Monologues” Director Micah Watson and SNL cast member and UVA alumn Sasheer Zamata.

We’re happy to celebrate how lucky we are to have Lady T on our Grounds.
