Feelin’ the Funk

Bands and brews at Boylan for the 2nd annual Corner Indie Battle.

Corner Indie Fest (CIF), a Charlottesville startup music festival, held their 2nd annual Corner Indie Battle at Boylan Heights earlier this month. Six artists and bands from around Grounds and the Charlottesville community competed for one cash prize and a spot in CIF this Spring. Boomer & Moose emerged victorious with their renditions of “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse.

Despite rewriting some of the lyrics for one of their songs just moments prior to their performance-Andrew Norman, the band’s lead singer, can be seen holding a Boylan menu with new lyrics scrawled on the back-Boomer & Moose kept the audience feeling the funk throughout their entire set.

You can see Boomer & Moose perform at Corner Indie Fest this upcoming Spring.
