Redefining Adventure: Meet Doug Stoup

The Pioneer sits down with environmentalist, inventor, and adventurer Doug Stoup, one of the world’s most accomplished Arctic explorers. Doug’s passion for spreading climate change awareness is an integral component of his two start-ups – Ice Axe Expeditions and the Ice Axe Foundation. He is committed to sharing his experiences with the world through interactive learning, mentoring, and inspirational speeches. Doug has been to the North and South Poles more than anyone in history, and has guided teams of scientists and handicapped individuals to some of the most remote places on the planet. His Ice Bike, which he used to bike across Antarctica, was selected as one of TIME magazine’s “best inventions” of 2003.

Scott Gilb, Associate Producer for the Pioneer and an avid mountain biker, chats with Doug after his presentation at the Tom Tom Founders Summit about his dreams for the future and his concerns over our fragile planet.
