Combine food, live music, and a warm spring night and you have the Tom Tom Founders Festival’s Friday Night Block Party. The event, which took place on Friday April 17th, was held at Charlottesville’s Lee Park.
The evening was complete with performances from Lord Nelson, The Funk Ark, Bosley, and Damani Harrison of Beetnix, along with food stands for various local vendors.

The Friday Night Block Party took place the same day as the Founder’s Summit on April 17th.Lee Park, the location for the Friday Night Block Party, is a part of the Virginia Civil War trail and also a popular spot for numerous other events throughout the year.Lord Nelson, a rock and roll band, was the first performance of the evening, playing songs inspired by a variety of artists and genres.
People of all ages were attracted to the live music and food available at the event.Volunteers from all over Charlottesville helped with the various events throughout the week.Damani Harrison debuted songs off his first solo album for the audience at the block party.The wide array of live music had everyone dancing along to the beat.Numerous audience members recorded performances for later viewing.
