HackCville’s Graphic Design Program
Vector is a 12-week program that teaches the basics of graphic design and the Adobe Creative Suite. Learn more about Vector below, or learn more about all of HackCville’s programs here.
Vector is a 12-week program that focuses on learning hard skills with Adobe Creative Suites – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, as well as, soft skills for basic graphic design and branding. Through a rotation of workshops with hands-on learning and reviews, this program will introduce the iterative and reflective process of design.
Each week there will be a design project with a short writing assignment. Projects will start as individual explorations and then turn into work in small groups. Projects will range from presentation slide decks, resume design, logo design, poster design, brochure design, and more. By the end of the program students will have developed their own personal design style and be comfortable using design software to create high quality products.
There is a $50 materials fee per student for Vector, due at the beginning of the program. This will cover the cost of Adobe Creative Cloud, a personal SD card for the program, and a few other small items. If you are interested in Vector but cannot afford the materials fee, we still encourage you to apply. In most cases we are able to provide financial assistance to cover costs like these.
Vector meets twice each week: Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm and Thursdays 5-6:30pm.
