Storyboard

HackCville’s Digital Media Program

Storyboard is a 12-week program that teaches video production and digital storytelling. Students learn skills in interviewing, filming, and editing and publish their work to HackCville’s publication, The Pioneer. Learn more about Storyboard below, or learn more about all of HackCville’s programs here.

Program Details

Student producers develop skills in modern media production through publishing stories about creative, civic, and entrepreneurial innovators in the University of Virginia and greater Charlottesville community.

Students learn storytelling, video production, photography, social media, and digital publishing. We also hosts trips to NYC and DC to tour media companies such as BuzzFeed, NBC, and VICE.

Our curriculum, mentorship, and trips give students real-world experience that make them competitive for jobs in today’s quickly-changing media industry. About 20 students complete our program each year and join the HackCville membership.

Storyboard will not be accepting new students in Spring 2017. Storyboard will be open for application again in August 2017.
